Increasing screen exposure among software professionals has been associated with ocular discomfort and tear film instability. Dry eye syndrome has become an important occupational health concern in computer-based workplaces. This cross-sectional study assessed the prevalence of dry eye syndrome among software professionals and examined workplace factors associated with symptom severity. Clinical evaluation included symptom questionnaires and standard ocular surface assessment. Participants with prolonged daily screen exposure and infrequent visual breaks reported significantly higher rates of eye dryness, burning sensation, blurred vision, and ocular fatigue. Implementation of workplace ergonomic measures and routine eye care education may reduce the burden of digital eye strain and improve occupational productivity.
