Corrections, Retractions & Appeals Policy

The International Journal Studies of Advance Medical Science (IJSAMS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns are identified, the journal will take appropriate editorial action in accordance with internationally accepted publication ethics and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Corrections

The journal will publish a correction when an error affects the accuracy, clarity, or integrity of a published article but does not invalidate its scientific findings.

Corrections may include:

  • Erratum: Correction of errors introduced by the journal during the publication process.
  • Corrigendum: Correction of errors made by the author(s) after publication.

All corrections will be linked to the original article and will clearly describe the changes made.

Retractions

A published article may be retracted if there is clear evidence of:

  • Research misconduct.
  • Data fabrication or falsification.
  • Plagiarism or duplicate publication.
  • Unethical research practices.
  • Major errors that invalidate the findings.
  • Manipulation of the peer review or publication process.

Retraction notices will remain permanently available, clearly identifying the reason for the retraction while preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.

Expression of Concern

The journal may publish an Expression of Concern when there is credible evidence of potential misconduct or serious problems with a published article, but the investigation has not yet been completed.

The notice will remain linked to the original article until a final editorial decision is made.

Article Withdrawal

Before Publication

Authors may request withdrawal of a submitted manuscript before acceptance by providing a written explanation to the Editorial Office.

After Acceptance

Requests for withdrawal after acceptance will be considered only under exceptional circumstances. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to approve or reject such requests.

After Publication

Published articles will not normally be withdrawn. If serious ethical or legal concerns arise, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction instead of removing the article from the scholarly record.

Appeals

Authors who disagree with an editorial decision may submit a written appeal to the Editor-in-Chief within 30 days of receiving the decision.

The appeal should clearly explain the reasons for reconsideration and include any supporting evidence.

The manuscript may be reviewed by additional independent reviewers or members of the Editorial Board. The decision made after the appeal process will be final.

Complaints

The journal welcomes complaints regarding editorial decisions, peer review, publication ethics, or journal procedures.

Complaints should be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office and will be handled confidentially, fairly, and without discrimination. All complaints will be investigated objectively, and appropriate action will be taken when necessary.

Policy Compliance

The journal is committed to correcting the scholarly record promptly and transparently while ensuring fairness to authors, reviewers, editors, and readers. All editorial actions are undertaken to preserve the quality, credibility, and integrity of published research.
