Authorship, Conflicts & Funding Policy

The International Journal Studies of Advance Medical Science (IJSAMS) follows the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). All authors are expected to adhere to the highest standards of honesty, transparency, and accountability throughout the publication process.

Authorship Criteria

An author should have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript. Authorship should be based on all of the following criteria:

  • Significant contribution to the conception, design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of the study.
  • Participation in drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
  • Approval of the final version of the manuscript before submission.
  • Agreement to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the work.

Individuals who do not meet these criteria should be acknowledged but should not be listed as authors.

Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all authors have approved the submitted manuscript.
  • Managing all communication with the journal during the editorial and publication process.
  • Providing accurate author information and affiliations.
  • Ensuring compliance with the journal's ethical and submission requirements.

Author Contributions

The journal encourages authors to clearly describe the contribution of each author in the manuscript. Contributions may include study design, data collection, statistical analysis, manuscript preparation, supervision, funding acquisition, or project administration.

Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission or acceptance must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author and must include the consent of all listed and affected authors. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to approve or reject such requests.

Equal Contribution

Where applicable, authors who have contributed equally to the work may be identified with an appropriate statement in the published article.

Acknowledgements

Individuals or organizations who contributed to the study but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged with their permission. Technical assistance, language editing, administrative support, and financial assistance may be recognized in the Acknowledgements section.

Conflict of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, academic, or personal relationships that could influence or appear to influence the research or editorial process.

Examples include:

  • Employment or consultancy
  • Research grants or funding
  • Honoraria or speaker fees
  • Patents or intellectual property
  • Stock ownership
  • Personal or professional relationships

If no conflicts exist, authors should state:

"The authors declare that they have no competing interests."

Editors and reviewers with a conflict of interest must recuse themselves from handling or reviewing the manuscript.

Funding Disclosure

Authors must disclose all sources of financial support for the research, including funding agencies, grant numbers, institutional support, or commercial sponsors.

If the study did not receive external funding, authors should state:

"This research received no external funding."

The role of the funding organization, if any, in the study design, data collection, analysis, manuscript preparation, or publication decision should also be disclosed.

ORCID

The journal strongly encourages all authors to register for an ORCID iD and include it during manuscript submission to ensure accurate author identification and improve research visibility.

Policy Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy, including false authorship, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or inaccurate funding information, may result in manuscript rejection, publication of corrections, retraction of published articles, or other appropriate editorial actions in accordance with international publication ethics standards.
