Adequate hydration is essential for maintaining urinary homeostasis and reducing the risk of urinary stone formation. Chronic dehydration has been suggested as a modifiable risk factor for recurrent renal colic. This observational study investigated the association between chronic dehydration and recurrent episodes of renal colic among adult patients attending a tertiary care hospital. Clinical history, daily fluid intake, occupational exposure, urinary findings, and imaging reports were reviewed. Patients with recurrent renal colic reported significantly lower daily water consumption and greater occupational heat exposure compared with those experiencing a first episode. Recurrent stone formation was more frequently observed among individuals with persistently inadequate hydration. These findings support the promotion of adequate fluid intake as a simple preventive strategy for reducing recurrence of renal calculi.
